The main objective of this book is to identify the key sources of growth which have played a significant role in Africa’s recent robust growth as well as its efforts towards economic transformation. The book assesses to what extent the existing macroeconomic frameworks among African countries have been streamlined to the countries’ development priorities in order to achieve long-term growth and economic transformation.

The book is aimed at a wide audience, including academics, economic geography, spatial planning and regional policy researchers, institutional leaders and managers, national and institutional policy makers, practitioners, administrators, master’s and senior bachelor’s students on related courses, general readers.

However, to improve the applicability of agent-based modeling and simulation methods, a new perspective is needed. In this book, that new perspective is developed and utilized to deal with many cases of real-world problems such as the supply chain, land use and land cover, transportation, health, services, economics, and social problems. The cases are selected from papers presented at the Ninth International Workshop on Agent-Based Approaches in Economic and Social Complex Systems held in Bali, Indonesia, in 2015. At the workshop, 29 reviewed full papers were presented, and of those, 16 were selected to be included in this volume.

This book sheds new light on the Greek economic challenges and helps readers understand the current debt crisis. Chapters from leading experts in the field identify and outline potential solutions to the on-going decline of the Greek economy by considering both Eurozone-adopted current policy framework explanations and potential alternative explanations.
